Programme :

 

A day consists of six hours of instruction. Participants may choose as many days as they wish and may choose only those days that they feel they require. The AgExpert Anaylst is a widely accepted computer based farm accounting program.

Day One:

Create a chart of accounts tailored to the specific needs of the participant. Participants will learn how to create a database, add new accounts and edit existing accounts. Using their own farm data participants will enter opening balances to prepare for transactions.

Day Two:

Using the database set up in day one participants will use their own farm data to record entries. Care will be taken to ensure participants are exposed to a variety of typical transactions. If necessary a sample database will be used and prepared transactiions entered.

Day Three:

Day three will take place two to three weeks later after the participants have had an opportunity to work on their records. This session will be used to answer questions that have arisen (participants will also be able to contact the instructor for help) and to solve problems. Time will be devoted to generating and interpreting relevant reports eg. GST,Income/Expense and various transaction reports.

Day Four:

This session is designed to assist the participant in completing a fiscal year end. It will include making adjusting entries,printing final reports and processing the year end. This session may need to take place several months after the initial introduction.

Programme :

TheAgExpert Fieldmanager Pro is a computer based field record keeping system that allows producers to track the operations carried out on individual fields, attach costs to these operations and record the revenues from these fields. Because both cost and revenue data is entered the program can calculate profit and loss reports for each field. The program also tracks inventory by bin and field of production.

A second aspect of the program allows producers to do crop planning on a field by field basis. Both fixed and variable costs can be entered and break even yields and prices can be generated.

The training is delivered over either one or two days of six hours each depending on the needs of the participant.

Day One;

Participants will learn the basics of the program using an instructor supplied database. This will allow the participant to make more informed decisions when setting up his or her own set of records. Time will be spent setting up the control information of the participants own farm. For many people this will be all they need to successfully use the program.

Day Two:

Day two is designed for participants who would like help in doing a complete setup of their farming operation and assistance in determining usage costs of equipment and operations. Building on Day One participants would continue to set up the farm and would enter data into the system. One or two fields would be taken through a complete year and reports would be generated and analysed.

This course starts with the fundamentals and provides you with the knowledge to set up a company's books and using the Receivables and Payables modules in Simply Accounting.  You will also learn bookkeeping processes for a service business, customize a company's chart of accounts, prepare sales taxes, sales invoices, customer payments, bills and expenses and produce multiple financial and other reports.  In the second half of the course you will expand your knowledge by customizing various forms to save a business money, use inventory, complete month-end tasks or reporting sales taxes and account reconciliation and more.  Hands-on exercises during class will allow you to practive these skills.  You will receive a manual for future reference.  Registered students have access to a Simply Accounting software download and also have the option of challenging the sage Simply Accounting Application Specialist Certification exam for free!
