Farmers will use this information to help determine when to sell, and best manage their cash flow and bin space. Having accurate forecasting skills will improve farm plan management. Developing a Successful Marketing Plan -Cost of production, Breakeven Price per bushel, Risk tolerance -Target zones and setting target prices Developing a successful marketing plan will help farmers be prepared for managing cash flows by setting price targets. Using the right information to create a marketing plan will improve farm business. Canadian Wheat Board Strategies -Explaining the benefits of producer payment options and when to use them Understanding the wheat board programs allows farmers to properly use the tools available to them when it comes to marketing wheat. There are ways to use programs offered by the CWB that can help farmers manage their marketing plans. By teaching them when to lock in prices and when to deliver wheat farmers will be able to manage cash flows and bin space properly. Futures and Option Strategies -Defining long and short positions, calls and puts -Importance of commitment of traders reports and who the participants are -Managing risk through use of futures and options Understanding futures and options allows farmers to successfully use the risk management tools available to them.
