This 56-week program is designed to introduce students to the history of aquaculture, to give them an overview of the state of the aquaculture industry today and to prepare them in all facets of this quickly developing industry. Due to the physical nature of the industry this training will require both theoretical and practical approaches. Upon completion students will have the necessary skills to become proficient aquaculture technicians with the opportunity to obtain long-term employment in one of the fastest growing industries in the province. Students will also have the ability to pursue and establish his or her own aquaculture operation.
