This course begins with a brief survey of advances in crop production since the mid-20th century and the implications for farmers, the soil and agro ecosystem, and consumers.It explores a spectrum of alternative cropping enterprises, including many all ready found in Grey Bruce. Topics covered include various crops and agronomic practices, marketing, processing, and product quality. Upon completion, students should be able to assess the suitability of alternative crop enterprises for their farms.
