This one-on-one training can be up to four days of training spread over several weeks or months.

Agenda:

Each day consists of six hours of instruction. This agenda provides the participant with personalized training tailored to his/her needs and skills.

Day 1 - Program Setup: Create a data file and setup a chart of accounts to record information customized to the participant's farming operation.  Enter opening balances and create a Trial Balance.

Day 2 - Transaction Entry: Review cash and accrual accounting methods, review the transaction entry windows in AgExpert Analyst. Instruct the participant how to enter his/her business' financial reords.  Have the participant complete a specific period of records (e.g. one fiscal quarter) as homework.

Day 3 - Review, Generate GST/HST, Reports - Review the participant's data entry for accuracy. Answer participant's questions resulting from homework. Process GST/HST return. Process bank reconciliation(s). Review financial reports.

Day 4 - Yearend Process - Provide instruction on how to prepare for the financial yearend. Review yearend checklists.  Process yearend.

 

Cost:

$500 per day

Tuition:  $500 per day plus GST

Training materials:  $50 (one time cost) plus GST

Farmers and ranchers who want to gain better control of their financial records and generate information to improve their management decisions.

The participant will learn the features of the accounting software, basic accounting principles and learn how to track day to day transactions. By having the ability to generate accurate accounting records, the producer wil be able to improve his/her management of income and expenses, payables and receivables plus manage inventory.
