MUC offers this program to develop individuals who want to acquire theoretical and technical skills is the fisheries and aquaculture industry and who want to develop a professional attitude toward a career in the industry. Students take the program in 1, 2 or 3 year formats and can choose to participate in two terms of co-operative education work placements. The first year of the program provides students with a foundation in basic conceptual areas and students participate in a weekly practicum. The second year exposes students to more technical and specialized topics such as engineering, hydraulics and hatchery design. During the second year students participate is a one-week limnology field course on the shores of a remote lake. The second year also requires a weekly practicum.
